Bangladesh confirmed 35 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours till 8am on Wednesday.
The country's death toll from the virus now stands at 4,351, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the last 24 hours, 2,582 people tested positive for Covid-19 and the number of novel coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 3,17,528.
"Of the dead patients, 23 were men and 12 were women. Moreover, 22 of them hailed from Dhaka, 4 each from Chattogram and Khulna, one each fromRajshahi, Barishal and Mymensingh, two each from Sylhet.
All the 35 dead persons have died in different hospitals across the country.
Around 66.46 percent of novel coronavirus patients – both symptomatic and asymptomatic – have recovered in Bangladesh so far, while 1.37 percent have died.
The latest day's infection rate is 16.98 percent of the total tests, though the overall rate in the country till date was 20.13 percent.
While talking about district-wise fatalities, 2,105 hailed from Dhaka division, 943 from Chattogram, 291 from Rajshahi, 363 from Khulna, 169 from Barishal, 194 from Sylhet, 194 from Rangpur, and 92 from Mymensingh district.
A total of 2,839 patients were declared free of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours and the total number of recoveries reached 2,11,016.
Some 15,734 samples were collected in the last 24 hours and 15,204 were tested in 92 labs across the country. So far 15,77,616 samples have been tested.
Currently, 52,085 people are quarantined across the country – including 2,003 newly-quarantined individuals.
The authorities placed 589 new individuals suspected of having Covid-19 into isolation while 572 left. Some 19,954 people are staying in different isolation units across the country.
There are 14,474 general dialysis beds available in the country for Covid-19 treatment where 3,845 people are already admitted, and 10,629 beds are available for treatment.
Moreover, there are 550 ICU facilities for the treatment of novel coronavirus infected patients in the country.
There are 13,011 oxygen cylinders, 482 high-flow nasal cannula and 180 oxygen concentrator available across the country.
The virus has killed 8,48,255 people globally and infected 2,53,27,098 so far.
