Meghna Bank director Alok Kumar Das has sold a warehouse named STL. The documents are showing that Sohel Murad is the buyer. But different organisations of much-talked-about Prasantho Kumar (PK) Halder provided the money.

PK Halder, however, himself supplied the money, media report claimed.
After the national election in 2014, the control of International Leasing and Finacial Services Limited (ILFSL) was taken after purchasing shares of four non-existent organisations. Later, Tk 2,108 crore was withdrawn in the name of establishing organizations, which have no authenticity rather paper-based only. PK Halder has reportedly played key role in plundering those money.   

There is allegation that PK Halder amassed the lion share of the money and shared some part among others.  
At that time, he served as the managing director (MD) of Reliance Finance and NRB Global Bank.   

PK Halder is now in hiding but the depositors of ILFSL are moving from door to door to get their money back.   

Different organisations are now probing the corruption allegations committed by PK Halder after his disappearance. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is also looking into the irregularities done by PK Halder.   

An inspection report of BFIU revealed that AKM Shahid Reza, former chairman of Mercantile Bank and incumbent executive chairman got Tk 28 crore from the money withdrawn by PK Halder in the name of those organisations. While Meghna Bank’s two directors Shakhawat Hossain and Alok Kumar Das and their family members received Tk 34.25 crore.

The investigation is underway in this connection as BFIU has sent their report to the ACC to take action against the people who are involved in the irregularities. In the meantime, bank accounts of 83 beneficiaries were seized.
