A webinar (seminar) was organized on Tuesday (August 18, 2020) by the Korean Tourism Organization (KTO) in collaboration with Trav Talk to motivate Bangladeshi tourists to travel to South Korea.
Young Geul Choi, Director, Korean Tourism Organization (KTO), and Sandeep Dutt, Marketing Manager, and Md. Rafeuzzaman, President, Bangladesh Tour Operators Association, took part in the discussion. The program was conducted by tourism expert Arjun Chadda.
The event, which lasted more than an hour, featured detailed information about 7 major cities and 10 tourist spots in South Korea. The spots are: - 1) Jiangbakgung Palace. During Joseph's reign it was the head of the royal family and the legitimate palace. 2) Namsan Seoul Tower. This tower offers a spectacular view of the entire city of Seoul at night. 3) Bacon Hanak Palli. There are various historical and traditional prasads in Korea, which attract the curious visitors only. 4) Namisium Island. It is basically a hilltop.
The spot is famous for protecting nature and recycling recyclables. 5) Lotte World Here you can enjoy all year round. There are thrilling rides like Mystery World (Carousel), Spanish pirate ships, rides on artificial lakes, Gyro Drop and Gyra Spin. 6) Chandiokgung Palace and Huon. The palaces were built during the reign of Joseph.
Almost all the palaces were inhabited by members of the royal family. 6) Hongdaye. It is a cultural center. There are cafes, restaurants, bars and shops on both sides of the road. 6) Insa Dong. The place is famous for its handicrafts, souvenir shops and restaurants and cafes. These restaurants serve traditional Korean food. 9) Busan Gamchian Cultural Village. From here, one can see the various beauties of Busan hills. 10) Mayong Dong. The place is famous for its fashion, shopping and fine street food.
Every year a large number of tourists from Bangladesh visit India. This is followed by Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan. Mainly due to the easy availability of visas, Bangladeshi tourists feel comfortable to visit these countries as a destination. A large number of Bangladeshis also visit South Korea.
Last year, about 16,000 Bangladeshi tourists visited the country. However, this number may increase in the coming years. It was expressed at the seminar that more Bangladeshi tourists would be interested in getting more visas, especially if they could get visas easily.
