Hilsa catching starts in after 65 days of ban

Thousands of fishermen from the coastal areas including Sharankhola will be heading toward the Bay of Bengal from Thursday midnight as the 65 days of ban on fishing is going to be lifted tomorrow.

The fishermen are taking last time's preparations. The fishing villages have worn a festive mood.

Visiting Sharankhola Rajoir Fisheries Centre on Wednesday, it was found that hundreds of trawlers were taking preparations to go into the sea. The fishermen were found busy with loading nets, fuel oil and other essentials to their trawlers. The fish godown owners were found busy with the fishermen about the selling of their catches.

Bagerhat fishermen will start their journey on Thursday with all the necessary equipment from Chila area of the Pasur river in Mongla of the district.

The fishermen of different areas in Mongla, Rampal, Dacope, Sharankhola, Paikgachha and Shyamnagar adjacent of Khulna will leave their localities on the same day.
