US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has thanked Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus for his leadership in Bangladesh during a challenging period.
"Mr. Sullivan re-iterated the United States' support for a prosperous, stable, and democratic Bangladesh," said a readout issued by the White House on Monday evening.
The White House made the statement following a telephone conversation on Monday between US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and Bangladesh's Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
During the conversation, Sullivan said that the United States continued supporting Bangladesh in meeting its challenges.
"Both leaders expressed their commitment to respecting and protecting the human rights of all people, regardless of religion," said the White House.
