Lowest temperature recorded at 8.7°C in Chuadanga

A mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over the parts of the country. The country’s lowest temperature of 8.7 degrees Celsius was recorded in the Chuadanga district on Saturday morning.

Jaminur Rahman, acting in charge of Chuadanga Weather Observatory Center, said they have recorded 8.7 degrees Celsius at 9 am on Saturday.


At that time, the humidity level was 97 percent. At 9 am, the temperature dropped a little to 8.7 degrees Celsius. The humidity level was 85 percent.


He also said that the temperature will drop further and the cold wave will continue until December 15. Then, the temperature will increase slightly from December 16. However, dense fog may continue.


The sun remains invisible till 12 pm.


The shivering cold disrupted the normal life  of people, especially the daily wage earners in the district. People are being forced to remain indoors due to the cold.
