Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today said that illegal foreigners will not be allowed to stay in Bangladesh.
He made this remark after a meeting organized on Sunday (December 8) regarding law and order on Christmas and 31st night.
“A notification will be issued regarding illegal foreigners. However, we do not yet have any information about how many illegal foreigners are in Bangladesh,” said Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
Meanwhile, a warning notice was issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday.
It said that complaints are being received from various sources that many foreign nationals are staying in Bangladesh illegally and working in various institutions illegally. Foreign nationals who are staying or working in Bangladesh illegally are requested to immediately obtain legality along with the necessary documents for their stay or work in Bangladesh. Otherwise, legal action will be taken against them, the notice also stated.
