Abdul Mannan, CEO of The Friendship Tours and Travels, has been honored with the BGC Award-2024 for his special contribution to social work. BGC Award Season-3 was held in a grand event at a five-star hotel in the capital Dhaka in a joint initiative of Bangladesh Green Leaf Cultural Forum and Green Leaf Magazine on Saturday, November 30th. Internationally renowned magician, bass player Jewel Eich who received Ekushe Padak was present as the chief guest on the occasion. The event was inaugurated by Executive Director of Asian Business Partnership Summit, Md. Golam Farooq Majnu. In the opening speech of the event, Md. Golam Farooq Majnu said, in the midst of living, people get involved in good deeds, some in bad deeds. Some are cooks, some are heroines. Heroinchi is said to be a drug addict. Celebrities should come forward to cure drug addiction. Many celebrities of the country have appeared here. People follow you. So your speech or your advice will be accepted by common people. We all have to come forward from our respective places to build a drug free society. Regarding the award, Abdul Mannan expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries present and said, "It is always nice to be awarded in recognition of any work. It increases the love, liking and responsibility towards the work. I do not want to restrict myself to a certain pace. Always human. I work with service in mind. I want to achieve the love of people regardless of caste in this diverse world." The program began with a minute`s silence and national anthem in memory of the martyrs of the anti-discrimination movement of 2024. In the event, distinguished individuals were awarded in 50 categories for their special contribution in various fields. Also awarded as best singer were noted music artist Monir Khan, talented senior acting artist Anjana, popular film actress Apu Biswas, film actress Tama Mirza, film actress Parthana Fardeen Dighi, film actor Eamon, acting artist Runa Khan, acting artist Kusum Sikdar, acting Artist Sakh, Actor Parsana Ivana, Actor Saidur Rahman Pavel, Popular Child Artist Simreen Lubaba, Fashion Choreographer Gautam Saha, Dancer Ivan Shahriar Sohag, Korean, Trainer Bulbul Tumpa, Fashion Model Syed Ruma, Brand Promoter Barish Haque, Influencer Sanjeeda Saima, Entrepreneur Taslima Islam, Organizer Urmi Islam are prominent individuals who have contributed in various sectors.
