BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has arrived at the Senakunja of Dhaka Cantonment to attend the reception ceremony on the occasion of 'Armed Forces Day'.

Reacting to her presence after a long time, Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus says he is proud to bring BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to the Armed Forces Day function.

He made this response while attending the reception ceremony at Senakunj on Thursday (November 21) afternoon.

Dr. Yunus said, "Begum Khaleda Zia, the wife of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, is here with us after a decade. We are proud to have provided her with this opportunity."

This is the first time the BNP Chairperson has participated in a public program since 2018. Earlier, she last visited Sylhet on February 5, 2018. Apart from this, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia participated in the Armed Forces Day ceremony at Senakunj in 2012.

Meanwhile, BNP's acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and 24 other senior leaders of the party have also been invited to the program.
