RAB rescue child kidnapped during robbery in Azimpur

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has rescued the baby girl who was kidnapped during a robbery at a house in Dhaka's Azimpur. The kidnapper was arrested and the child was rescued from the capital's Mohammadpur area within 24 hours of the kidnapping. One person was also detained during the incident.

RAB's Legal and Media Wing Director, Lieutenant Colonel Munim Ferdous, confirmed this information through an SMS sent to the media at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday.


He said a press conference will be held at RAB's media center in Karwanbazar at 12:30 pm to provide details on this matter.


Robbers kidnapped a child after looting money and gold ornaments from a house in the medical staff quarters of Azimpur in Dhaka yesterday (15 November).


The child’s mother Farzana Akhter is a government employee, while her father works at a private company and they live in a rented house in Azimpur.


Jasim Uddin, Deputy Commissioner of the Lalbagh division, said that multiple police teams have been dispatched to track down the suspects.”


Following the incident, a post with a photo of the baby attached went viral on Facebook.
