Chief Advisor to the Interim Government Dr. Muhammad Yunus has called former state minister for home affairs Tanjim Ahmad Sohel Taj. At this time, they discussed the three-point demand presented by Sohel Taj regarding the complete history of the Great Liberation War and the contribution of the 4 national leaders.
Sohel Taj informed this in a post on his verified Facebook page on Monday (November 4)
In the post, the former state minister for home affairs wrote, “You will all be glad to hear that the Honorable Chief Adviser Dr Mohammad Yunus called me this morning and I spoke to him for quite some time. He reverently remembered the contribution of Tajuddin Ahmad and the four national leaders in our Great Liberation War and assured me that he would take steps so that the new generation would know the complete history of our Great Liberation War.”
Tanjim Ahmad Sohel Taj, son of national leader Tajuddin Ahmed, gave a memorandum to the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government Dr. Muhammad Yunus with a three-point demand, including the declaration of national mourning day on November 3, the day of the killing of the four leaders of the government that led the Great Liberation War.
Sohel Taj’s three demands are –
1. Since the first government of Bangladesh was formed on 10 April 1971 through the Declaration of Independence, Bangladesh was born as an independent-sovereign state (Republic), so this day should be declared as ‘Republic Day’.
2. Jail Killings Day on November 3 should be declared as a ‘National Mourning Day’ and observed nationally.
3. The names, contributions, and biographies of all the civil and military organizers, directors, martyrs, and valiant Freedom Fighters including the four national leaders and the correct and complete history of the Liberation War must be included in the textbooks and syllabus at all levels.
