ACC Chairman and Two Commissioners Resign

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Md Moinuddin Abdullah resigned today (October 29).

At the same time, ACC Commissioner Mst Asia Khatun and Zahirul Haque have also resigned.


They submitted their resignations to the President on Tuesday (October 29) afternoon.


The ACC Reform Commission had a meeting with the ACC Chairman and two commissioners along with the senior officials at 3:30 pm Today. The Executive Director of Transparency International Bangladesh and the head of the ACC Reform Commission. Members of the Reform Commission headed by Iftekharuzzaman were supposed to be present.


However, the chairman and two commissioners resigned before the meeting.


On March 3, 2021, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah signed the appointment gazette by order of the President. He replaced Iqbal Mahmud with Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah. He was earlier the Senior Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture.
