Six people of the same family were injured as a gas cylinder exploded at a house at Dahargaon in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj district early Saturday.
The injured were Babul Hossain, 47, his wife Shelly Akhter, 36, and relative Md. Sohel, 22, Munni Akter, 20, Ismail, 16 and Taslima, 13.
The burn patients have been admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. The resident doctor Tariqul Islam said that six people were burnt.
66 percent of Babul's body, his wife's 30 percent, Babul's relative Sohel's 70 percent, Munni's 20 percent, Ismail's 55 percent and Taslima's 63 percent were burnt and are not out of danger, said Tariqul Islam.
Mugol Mia, Babul's uncle said the fire broke out at the house as someone tried to light a mosquito coil at night. Burnt Babul works in a local garment factory. Everyone was at home when the fire broke out. There was no gas connection in the house. They used cylinder gas for cooking.
