The violence occurred in different parts of the country during the anti-discrimination student movement. In addition to ordinary people, police were also killed. The list has been published by the police headquarters.
The list published on Friday (October 25) reported the death of 44 people.
Apart from some individuals, news outlets have been spreading false and inaccurate information about the number of policemen killed in the student-led uprising in July-August, police headquarters said. Therefore, the actual list of policemen killed in the uprising was published.
The police headquarters also said that Bangladesh Police maintains a list of officers or constables who are injured or killed in protest or retaliation. However, if anyone claims that a policeman was killed in the public uprising outside of this published list, it is requested to provide appropriate evidence.
