This year, Japan's human rights organization Nihon Hidankyo has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Nobel laureate and Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, has extended his congratulations to the organization for receiving this honor.

On Friday (October 11) at 6:30 PM, a congratulatory post was made on the Chief Advisor's verified Facebook page.

The post reads: "Congratulations to Nihon Hidankyo for winning the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize. The organization’s unwavering commitment to nuclear disarmament and peace is an inspiration to us all. Nihon Hidankyo’s tireless efforts to keep the world safe from the horrors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki should never be forgotten. Thank you for your courage and dedication. Warm congratulations once again."

Earlier, at 3:00 PM Bangladesh time, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the name of Nihon Hidankyo as this year's Nobel Peace Prize winner. The organization, locally known as Hibakusha, represents survivors of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Notably, in 2006, Dr. Muhammad Yunus and Grameen Bank jointly received the Nobel Peace Prize for their outstanding contribution to "bottom-up economic and social development."
