A low pressure formed over the North Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh and West Bengal. The Meteorological Office predicted heavy to very heavy rains in all parts of the country in the next 24 hours under the influence of low pressure in the sea and active monsoon.
The weather forecast for the next 72 hours from 9 am on Saturday (October 5) states that light to moderate rain with gusty winds may occur at most places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal, and Sylhet divisions and many places in Rangpur, Khulna and Chattogram divisions. Also, there may be moderate to very heavy rains in some parts of the country. Night temperatures may drop slightly across the country during this time.
Due to heavy rainfall, there is a risk of landslides in some places in the hilly areas of the Chattogram division.
The weather forecast for the country's inland river ports from 5 am to 1 pm today says Rangpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Over Sylhet region, there may be occured rain or thundershower with gusty wind speed of 45 to 60 km per hour from south or south-east direction over Sylhet region.
The river ports in these areas have been asked to show warning signal no. 1.
On Sunday (October 6), the weather forecast said that in most places of Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; Many places of Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Chattogram divisions, and some places of Rangpur, Khulna and Barishal divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds temporarily. Along with this, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall at some places in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country.
The weather forecast on Monday (October 7) said that in many places of Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions; Some places of Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions and one or two places of Chattogram division may temporarily experience light to moderate rain with gusty winds. Along with this, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall in some parts of the country. Day and night temperatures may vary slightly across the country.
The extended 5 (five) day weather forecast says that the rain trend may continue.
