Prof. AKM Reazul Hassan has been appointed as the new chairman of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).

This information is known from the notification signed by Chowdhury Samia Yasmin, Deputy Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department (College-2) of the Ministry of Education on Saturday (August 31).

Professor Reazul Hassan is a Professor of Political Science Department of Government Rajendra College, Faridpur. He also served as the chairman of the department. Apart from this, he also served as a Member (Primary Education) of NCTB.

Professor Farhadul Islam was appointed as the chairman of NCTB for the second term on July 28. After the fall of the Awami government, he voluntarily resigned on August 19.

It is to be noted that the National Curriculum and Textbook Board prepares the curriculum from primary to higher secondary level across the country. Apart from this, free books are also given to primary and secondary-level students through this organization.
