A case has been filed against 430 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the shooting death of a youth named Sumon Sikder (31) in the capital's Pragati Sarani.
The case was filed at Badda police station in the capital on Wednesday (August 21).
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badda police station, Abdur Rauf, confirmed the matter and said that the deceased's mother Mst. Masuma filed an affidavit. The statement was recorded in the case.
In the statement, the victim's mother alleged that on July 19, around noon, Sumon left home for work. At that time, the quota reform movement was taking place in Pragati Sarani. When the accused fired at the procession, it hit Sumon. He was later brought to the hospital and the duty doctor declared him dead.
