The remaining exams of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent exams have been canceled amid students' protests.
It has been decided by the Ministry of Education.
Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Chairman Tapan Kumar Sarkar told reporters on Tuesday (August 27th).
On that day, a meeting was chaired by the interim government's Education Advisor Wahiduddin Mahmud in the Ministry of Education.
A group of HSC examinees marched and entered the Secretariat while chanting slogans demanding the cancellation of exams this afternoon.
Around 2 pm they announced that they will hold a sit-in programme inside the Secretariat as long as their demands are not met.
It was decided at the meeting that the examination of the HSC and the rest of the equivalent of this year will be held in a half-question-and-answer format. The re-examination date will be followed by two more weeks from September 1.
