Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced the cancellation of pension schemes proposed in universities, autonomous institutions and government institutions.
The decision was taken in a meeting with the central leaders of the Professional Coordination Council at Gonobhaban on Saturday (August 3).
In the middle of June this year, public university teachers announced a movement to protest against the mandatory inclusion of university teachers in the government's universal pension scheme 'Prattay'. Their demand was to cancel the inclusion of university teachers in the universal pension scheme. If the demands are not met by June, they will go on a complete strike from July 1. All kinds of class examinations and academic activities were stopped as a result of their agitation.
