At least four people were injured when a clash broke out between a group of quota reform protesters and Dhaka University (DU) unit Chhatra League activists.

The clash broke out after the students held a rally protesting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's remarks about their movement.

The injured are Mahmudul Hasan, 23, Yakub, 21, Rakib, 24, and Masud 23. They are being treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The chase-counter chase between the groups took place in front of Bijoy Ekattor Hall of DU after 3pm on Monday.

After the rally, a section of the protesters marched towards the Bijoy Ekattor Hall when the Chhatra League activists threw shoes at them.

In response, the students, too, threw brickbats at them.
