RAB raids multiple Dhaka hospitals, detains 30 brokers

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained at least 30 people while conducting raids in various hospitals in Sher Bangla Nagar area in Dhaka Wednesday morning.

In the afternoon, the deputy commander of RAB-2, Major Nazmul said: “RAB is conducting operations led by magistrates through mobile courts. Those who are caught as brokers are being punished and fined for various terms. So far, 30-32 people have been detained.”

He also said: "17 people have been detained from Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital and four people from Dhaka Shishu Hospital. Besides, some people have been detained from National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Nitor). The operation is still ongoing.”

This RAB official also said that details will be given in the press release later.
