A Bangladeshi man was shot dead allegedly by members of India's Border Security Force (BSF) along the Ratnai border in Thakurgaon's Baliadangi upazila today.
The deceased was identified as Nuruzzaman, 40, in Baliadangi upazila.
Commanding officer of BGB-50 Lieutenant Colonel Tanjir Ahmed said the BSF troops of Sonamati camp opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi people, numbering 10-12, in the border area, leaving Nuruzzaman dead.
Later, they took the body to their camp while the others managed to flee the scene, the BGB official said.
A flag meeting between BSF and BGB will be held in the afternoon protesting the killing, said Tanjir.
