Renowned architect Mubasshar Hussain passed away at a hospital in Dhaka in the early hours of Monday.
Mubasshar, a former president of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB), breathed his last around 1:30am while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Specialised Hospital, according to the IAB.
Valiant freedom fighter Mubasshar had been suffering from various health complexities for a long time.
He was vocal on various issues, including civil rights and environmental movements.
With the demise of Mubasshar Hussain, the country lost an extraordinary patriot, organiser and guardian, the IAB said in a condolence message.
