Cyclone Sitrang has turned into a depression weakening further while heading towards India's Meghalaya-Tripura through Brahmanbaria-Sylhet region.
Sources at Bangladesh Meteorological Department confirmed the matter around 7:00am today (October 25, 2022).
"Due to the high air pressure, the seaports have been asked to keep hoisting warning signal number 3. Sky is cloudy across the country now. It is raining intermittently at some place and it may continue throughout the day," Meteorologist Abul Kalam Mallik told.
Asked if there is any special warning for the southern districts of the country, he said, "There is no special warning for any district. Because Sitrang has now become weak. Inland river ports have been advised to keep hoisted warning signal number 2."
Dhaka saw 255 mm of rain during the last 24 hours, he said.
