Trader stabbed to death in Chattogram

A trader was stabbed to death and another injured at Kazirdewri in Chattogram city on Thursday.

The deceased is Md Mainuddin, 30, son of Abdul Mabud of Chandgoan area in Chattogram. He was a trader by profession, Kotwali police station’s officer-in-charge Md Jahidul Kabir told FP.

The injured one is Md Mobarak, 27. He has been undergoing treatment at the Chattogram Medical College Hospital, he said.

The OC said that Mohiuddin and Mobarak were stabbed by Abu Ahmed Babu at Kazirdewri area at about 3:50am.

Mohiuddin was declared dead on arrival while he was brought to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

‘There was previous enmity between Mohiuddin and Abu Ahmed Babu over setting up a stall at Chattogram International Trade fair. They had an altercation over the issue,’ the OC said.

However, police were conducting drive to arrest the suspected killer, the OC added.
