He felt sick during remand and brought back to police station after treatment
Evaly Managing Director and CEO Mohammad Rassel, remanded in a fraud case, was taken to hospital on Friday night after he complained of health issues.
After receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, he was brought back to Gulshan police station.
Md Asaduzzaman, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Gulshan Division, told Dhaka Tribune that Evaly MD Rassel was brought back to the police station after his condition had improved.
Earlier in the day, a Dhaka court granted the police three days to interrogate him and his wife Shamima Nasrin, chairperson of the e-commerce platform.

He was taken to the DMCH around 9pm and later was referred to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (Mitford Hospital). But the details about his illness and the treatment process could not be known immediately.
An Evaly customer named Arif Baker brought charges of fraud and issuance of death threats against Rassel and Nasrin in the case filed with the Gulshan police station on Thursday. The duo were arrested from their flat in Mohammadpur after a raid by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members.
After primary interrogation, RAB claimed quoting Rassel and Nasrin, that Evaly owed more than Tk1,000 crore to its customers and suppliers but had only Tk30 lakh in its bank account.
Rassel had planned to enter the stock market after running his company for three years. He also had planned to declare himself bankrupt after failing to repay the debt, RAB claimed at a press conference on Friday.
