150 more die at Covid units in 10 Bangladesh districts

At least 150 patients died at the Covid units of hospitals in 10 districts across Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Tuesday morning.

The districts are Khulna, Rajshahi, Kushtia, Barishal, Chattogram, Satkhira, Tangail, Rangpur, Cumilla and Mymensingh.


Of the deceased, 86 were Covid positive patients and 64 had Covid symptoms, according to the reports.

Of the deceased, 11 died in four hospitals in Khulna, 21 died in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, 17 in Kushtia, 16 in Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal, 18 in Clhattogram, seven in Satkhira Medical College Hospital, 10 in Cumilla, five in Tangail, 26 in Rangpur Medical College Hospital and 19 more patients died in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital during the time, New Age correspondents in the districts, quoting officials of the hospitals and health department, reported.

In Khulna, five patients – three Covid patients and two having symptoms — died in Khulna Medical College Hospitals, three Covid patients died in Khulna General Hospital, two in Gazi Medical College Hospital and one Covid patient died in Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Hospital, New Age correspondent in Khulna, quoting officials of the hospitals, reported.

New Age’s Rajshshi University Correspondent, quoting Rajshshi Medical College Hospital director Brigadier Shameem Yazdany, reported that 21 patients — 10 Covid patients and 11 having symptoms — died at the Covid unit of the hospital in the past 24 hours.

New Age Islamic University correspondent, quoting Kushtia civil surgeon Anowarul Islam, reported that 17 people — 13 Covid patients and four having symptoms — died in the district during the time.

Our Correspondent in Barishal, referring to a release by Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, reported that a total of 16 patients — five Covid positive patients and 11 having Covid symptoms — died at the hospital’s Covid unit in the past 24 hours ending 8:00am on Tuesday.

New Age correspondent in Chattogram, quoting the district civil surgeon Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, reported that a total of 18 Covid patients died at hospitals in Chattogram in past 24 hours.

New Age correspondent in Satkhira, quoting the SaMCH superintendent Kudrat-e-Khuda, reported that one Covid positive patient and six others having Covid symptoms died at the Covid unit of the hospital during the period.

In Cumilla, 10 Covid positive patients died during the timeline, reported New Age correspondent in the district, quoting officials at district Civil Surgeon’s office.

In Rangpur, 11 Covid patients and 15 having symptoms died at Rangpur Medical College Hospital in the past 24 hours, reported New Age correspondent in the district, quoting the hospital officials.

New Age correspondent in Mymensingh, quoting the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital’s Covid unit focal person Mahiuddin Khan Moon, reported that 19 patients – five Covid positive patients and 14 others having symptoms — died in the Covid units of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital during the time.

In Tangail, four Covid patients and one having symptoms died during the timeline, New Age correspondent in the district, quoting the district civil surgeon, Abul Fazal Mohammad Shahabuddin, reported.
