The Covid units of four Khulna hospitals have counted 17 deaths in the 24 hours to Monday morning.
Of them, 12 tested positive for Covid-19 while the other had symptoms.
Ten patients died at the Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), said resident medical officer Suhas Ranjan Halder.
A total of 199 people were undergoing treatment at the hospital's Covid unit till 8am on Monday.
Of the patients, 125 are undergoing treatment in the red zone, 34 in the yellow zone, 20 are in the high-dependency unit (HDU) and 20 are at the intensive care unit (ICU).
Fifty-one were admitted during the same time and 40 were discharged from the hospital.
The Gazi Medical College Hospital recorded three deaths at its Covid unit.
As many as 129 patients were receiving treatment at the Covid unit, said its proprietor Gazi Mizanur Rahman.
Meanwhile, at the Covid unit Khulna General Hospital, three patients died, said its spokesperson Dr Kazi Abu Rashed.
Seventy-six patients were taking treatment at the unit as of Monday morning, he added.
The Covid unit at Khulna's Shahid Sheikh Abu Naser Specialized Hospital reported one death in the past 24 hours.
The hospital is currently treating Covid 45 patients.
