Police have been vigilant on Dhaka roads since morning to enforce the "strict lockdown" on its first day today.
As part of the measures to implement the rules and regulations, Dhaka Metropolitan Police have fined and arrested people at various points including Ramna, Lalbagh, Motijheel, Wari, Tejgaon, Mirpur, Gulshan and Uttar, according to a list issued by DMP.
Till 1pm, 73 people were arrested for breaking various rules from these places.
Meanwhile, 222 cases were filed involving cars. A total of TK 2,97,100 was fined against cars during this time, the list reveals.
A total of 10 shops were fined Tk 34,100, according to the list.
