A man was killed and several others injured when a speedy car crashed into a pickup van in the capital’s Banani area early Sunday.

The deceased is Jalil Molla, driver of the pickup van. His body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Banani police sub-inspector Mir Mahfuzul Islam said that the pickup van was taking some day labourers as passengers when the car hit it from behind causing the accident.

The labourers said that they rode into the pickup van on their way to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area at about 2:00am when the car crashed into the pickup.

Locals rescued the injured and sent them to the hospital.
