A long trench was dug up beside the road of Maniknagar Bazar in the capital for installing RCC sewerage pipelines with the advent of monsoon. Since piled-up loose soil kept beside the site, the road turns muddy and fills with viscous water as unchecked sewerage water keeps flowing due to negligence of the contractor. The situation worsened further following yesterday's rain.
Locals alleged that the contractor remains apathetic to complete the work though he kept RCC pipes at the site for the last six months. Now the work is going on full swing at the fag end of the outgoing fiscal year compromising the quality of the work. This photo was taken on Tuesday shows that pedestrians and vehicles crossing through the road with spectre of sufferings and risk of accidents.
