Don’t go against the state, police chief warns

Inspector General of Police Dr Benazir Ahmed has said the attacks on the sculpture of Bangabandhu will be dealt with an iron fist as such incidents are tantamount to attack on the constitution, state and people as well.

He made the remark while addressing a programme at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital city on Saturday.

Government Officials Forum organized the programme protesting against the recent attacks on Bangabandhu's sculpture.

The police chief said "No one will be allowed to touch (harm) the independence, constitution, state and people. We, along with 18 crore countrymen and state, will resist everything."

He warned the perpetrators, saying "Do not dare to go against the state. Because opposing the state means going against 18 crore people."

Senior secretaries, secretaries and officials of the same rankings, chiefs of various organisations, officials of 29 cadres, and officials of various  posts from different government institutions were present at the protest assembly.
