massive fire has broken out in Kumargaon 150 MW Power Station of Sylhet Sadar upazila today.
The fire originated around 11.30 am and at the moment four units of fire service are on the spot trying to control it, plant's Chief Engineer Mokammel Hossain confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
"In the morning the gridline suddenly caught fire and after a while, the fire took a horrible shape. Already two transmitters have burnt down," he added.
However, he said the cause of the fire is still unknown.
The entire Sylhet district is without electricity due to the fire, he noted and added that no one has been reportedly injured in the accident.
