With the death of 15 more patients from COVID-19, the total number of fatalities reached 5,608 in Bangladesh on Thursday.

In last 24 hours, 1,600 more virus infected patients were detected, raising the number of positive cases to 3,84,559.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the matter through a press release signed by Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of DGHS, this afternoon.

Some 1,780 more patients were declared free from the virus in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases to 2,90,229.

During this period, in 109 laboratories across the country, total 14,104 samples were tested.
