Dhoni-led Chennai have won the first match of the IPL 2020. Chennai have defeated Mumbai by 5 wickets with precious innings from Ambati Rayadu (72) and Faf du Plessis (58).
Arch-rivals started proceedings in the high-octane curtain-raiser as MS Dhoni returned to competitive cricket after 14 months, reports Republicworld.com.
The match started with Mumbai Indians (MI) bating first in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 opener against Chennai Super Kings at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field first. The 13th edition of the IPL was moved out of India due to the rising coronavirus cases in the country. Dhoni, who announced his retirement from international cricket in August, is back in action after a 14-month hiatus.
