The Anti Terrorism Unit of police on Friday arrested a suspected member of banned extremist outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team.

The suspected ABT member Sarowar Hossain Sohag, 25, son of Md Nurul Islam of Hospital Road of Bhola Sadar was arrested about 2:30pm said a press release of police headquarters.

He is an active member of ABT, the police headquarters said, adding that Sohag was planning acts of sabotage in Bangladesh with his associates and was making religiously provocative contents through Facebook and WhatsApp.

During the arrest, the Anti Terrorism Unit members recovered several documents on extremism and radicalism from him.

A case was filed against the suspect and his cohorts at Bhola Sadar police station.
