Veteran actor Sadek Bachchu, who was on life support at Universal Medical College Hospital in Dhaka, died on Monday.
He breathed his last at about 12:05pm at the hospital, its managing director Dr Ashish Kumar Chakrabarti confirmed.
He had been taken to Universal Medical College Hospital from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday night following deterioration of his condition.
The actor was on life support at intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital's COVID unit.
On September 8, Sadek Bachchu had been admitted to DMCH with high respiratory problem. Later, he was diagnosed with COVID-19 there.
Bachchu, a former employee of Bangladesh Post Office, entered the filmdom in 1985 through the movie ‘Ramer Sumoti’ and acted in many other films.
