Police recovered the bodies of a couple from their house in Nakhalpara area of Tejgaon Friday morning.
The wife Farzana Begum has marks of injuries in her head and her body was on the floor while the husband Asmat Ali’s body was found hanging from the ceiling, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Tejgaon division additional deputy commissioner Rubayat Zaman.
He said that police primarily suspecting that the husband might have killed his wife at one stage of family dispute and then hanged himself, adding that details could be revealed after the investigation and post-mortem examination was complete.
Police said that Farzana was working as office staff of a NGO at the area and was living there due to dispute between the couple.
With request of their children, the couple met there on Thursday night to resolve their dispute. But none showed up in the morning.
Later, their 15-year-old son informed police about it. Police broke open the door and recovered the bodies.
