Forty-one people died of coronavirus infection and 2,868 new cases have been detected across the country in the last 24 hours till Thursday morning.
A total of 14,059 samples out of 14,176 collected were tested at 91 labs in the country during the period, said a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
As many as 2,868 people have contracted the deadly disease afresh in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of infection cases to 2,87,859.
Some 3,253 patients have made recovery from the disease during the time. Now, the total recovery cases have stood at 1,68,991.
The number of recovered patients from the Covid-19 disease has been increasing day by day. Over 2,000 patients are making recovery every day, according to the press release.
Fresh 41 people died of the coronavirus infection in a day raising the total number of death to 3,822.
It said 20.46 percent of the samples have been diagnosed with coronavirus and 1.33 per cent patients have died. The current case detection rate is 20.40 per cent.
The health directorate also said 14,07,556 samples have been tested at 91 labs across the country.
The first case of Covid-19 was detected on March 8 while the first death was recorded on March 18 in the country.
