The Interim Government announced police reforms after a negative role in suppressing the anti-discrimination student movement. Work has already started. Apart from this, huge recruitment is upcoming in the Police, BGB, and Ansar.

Recruitment notification for the post of constable has already been published. Notification for SI recruitment will also be published within one to two days. The government is also making arrangements to recruit new manpower for Ansar and BGB.

Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury told the media after the meeting of the law and order advisory committee in the meeting room of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Home Affairs Adviser said that the work of reforming the police is underway. A committee has been formed for this. They will make a report. Measures will be taken based on that report. The members of the police who have not yet joined their workplaces are “no longer police”. They are “criminals” to us.

 
“We have started new recruitment in the police. The constable recruitment notification has been given. I will also give a notification for the recruitment of SI within these days. We are also making arrangements for new recruitment in Ansar and BGB,” he also said.

Home and Labour Advisor briefed the media after the Law and Order Advisory Committee meeting. In the briefing, they highlighted the issues and decisions of the meeting and various initiatives of the government regarding workers’ dissatisfaction.
