The government has decided to turn Ganobhaban, the official residence of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, into a museum to preserve the memory of the massacre in July.
This decision was taken at the advisory council meeting on Thursday (September 5).
Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, adviser of Youth and Sports said this at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting at the Foreign Service Academy around 7 pm.
He said that the Ganabhaban will remain in the same condition that the people have put it in. That is, the government will establish the museum without making any major changes in the current condition of the Ganabhaban.
