6 killed in bus-truck head-on collision in Gopalganj

At least six people were killed and 15 others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Gopalganj. 

The accident took place on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Kashiani upazila around 7:30am on Sunday.

The deceased are Samad Ali, 40, Tania Afroza Tohura, 35, Sakibur Rahman,35, and Roich Sheikh, 24. 

The other deceased’s name has not been known immediately.

Abdullahel Baki, sub-inspector of Bhanga highway police station, said a Dhaka-bound bus of “Imad Paribahan” from Pirojpur collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction when it reached Majhigati area. As a result, the bus fell into a nearby ditch. 

Bhanga Highway police station, fire service and locals are conducting rescue operations.
