Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the government could not be formed in 2001 due to obstruction in the sale of gas to India. At that time I got a lot of votes, but I did not get the required seat. If I don't come to power without selling Bangladesh's wealth, I don't care. Sheikh Mujib's daughter never came to power by selling the wealth of the country.

 She said this at the closing ceremony of the Padma Bridge project on Friday (July 5). Earlier, Sheikh Hasina joined the rally. The Prime Minister took the stage at 3:53 pm on this day.

The Prime Minister said that the Awami League does not want to develop the country by selling the country's resources. There have been many disasters in the construction of this Padma Bridge. She said that when I had no power and when I went abroad, If someone heard the name of Bangladesh, someone asked, is it a part of India? In this country, there are only cyclones, floods, and famines. We were considered poor. That was very painful for us. We got freedom in exchange for the blood of lakhs of martyrs. We will not have dignity as an independent nation, we will not be able to raise our heads and speak, and we will not have self-esteem, what kind of Bangladesh is this?

The closing ceremony and reconciliation rally have been organized in the field adjacent to Padma Bridge's North Police Station. The inauguration of the Padma Bridge and rail link project was held in this same field. Meanwhile, the guests arrived at the venue at 3 pm on the occasion of the event.
