Following a price hike in December last year, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices have cooled off at the beginning of the new year.
The new price of a 12kg cylinder has decreased from Tk1,257 to Tk1,232, reports Bangla Tribune.
Meanwhile, the price of a 45kg cylinder has decreased the most, which is about Tk243. Similarly, the price of autogas has also decreased.
Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Md Abdul Jalil announced the new prices during a virtual press conference on Monday.
The new prices are effective from 6pm on Monday.
Abdul Jalil said that compared to last month, the price of LPG in the international market has decreased.
Based on the LC settlement of 16 institutions, the price of the dollar has been fixed at Tk105.63, whereas in December it was Tk105.22.
