Certificates and doctor registration papers of DHMS 2015-16 batch of Uttara Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital were distributed yesterday (Saturday). The principal of the college Dr. Muhammad Abdul Alim, elected teachers' representative Dr. Md. Rukun Uddin and others distributed the four-year DHMS course certificates and doctor's registration certificates at a programme held in the college campus.
In a brief discussion in the programme, Principal Dr. Muhammad Abdul Alim said, "Homeopathy is no longer an alternative medical system, it is now internationally recognized as the main medical science. Patients who return from other treatments are now recovering with homeopathic treatment.
Multiple surveys have shown that 28 percent of people in Bangladesh are now taking homeopathy treatment. Many people rely on homeopathy due to its availability, low cost and no side effects. While this treatment was once popular among the lower and middle classes, now the upper classes are coming for homeopathy treatment. And so far more than 30,000 registered doctors who have passed under the Homeopathy Board of Bangladesh are providing this treatment all over the country."
