Pre-monsoon showers likely to drench Bangladesh

Pre-monsoon showers with intense lightning flashes are likely to persist over the country in the 24 hours from 9am on Sunday, says the met office.
 
Rain or thundershowers with intense lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions, and at a few places in Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
 
It said moderately heavy (22-43mm) to heavy (44-88mm) falls are likely at places across the country.
 
Day temperatures may rise slightly and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.
 
The maximum rainfall in the country was recorded at 63mm in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong.
