Cox'sBazar, A hub of fisheries sector connected with a major part of Bay of Bengal and her adjacent Rivers that have been providing a large number of salty and sweet water fishes for long to observe National Fisheries Week '21 between August 29 to September this year.
The slogan of this year's fisheries week is, Beshi Beshi Mach chash kori, Bekarotto dur kori (Let's farm fish more and more to remove unemployment).
On the week , the district fisheries office has taken different programs including operating mobile court to implement the fisheries related law, giving advices to fish farmers and distributing free fish feed, life jacket among them so on.
The programs will be started by releasing fry into a pond in Co'xBazar city August 29.
Said S.M Khalequzzaman, district fisheries officer of Cox'sBazar, while briefing to local journalists' on the ocassion of national fisheries week 2021. The press briefing was held at his office's conference room at noon on August 28. Shafiqur Rahman Ph.d, Principal scientific officer at Bangladesh fisheries research institute was present at the conference as chief guest.
