The government's ongoing ban on coronavirus infections has been extended for another week. However, the government has allowed all types of public transport, including long-distance buses to operate.

The Cabinet Division on Sunday issued a notification extending the ongoing restrictions to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection and at the same time allowed public transport to operate maintaining health safety rules.
The notification said all types of public transport, including inter-district transport, would be able to carry half the number of passengers capacity. However, all concerned, including passengers, must obey the rules of hygiene, including wearing a face mask and maintaining physical distance.
According to the cabinet department, the issue of public transport will be effective from Monday (today). Long-distance buses, passenger boats and trains have been allowed to run from Monday.
The notification also said the time limit was extended from midnight on May 23 to midnight on May 30, considering the current situation of Covid-19 infection.
The lockdown was announced on April 5 this year due to an increase in coronavirus infections.
Despite a slow lockdown until April 13, the government announced a "severe lockdown" from April 14 as the infection escalated.
Later, public bus services were allowed in the city corporation areas. However, long-distance buses, launches and trains were suspended. On Eid holidays, launch-trains and long-distance buses were also suspended.
