By-election in Pabna-4 constituency (Ishwardi-Atgharia) of the Jatiya Sangsad is underway on Saturday.
The vote casting began at 9am at 129 centres and will continue till 5:00pm without any break.
The total number of voters in Pabna-4 constituency comprises of two upazilas--Ishwardi and Atgharia. There are two municipalities and 12 unions. The total number of voters in the constituency are 3,81,112. Of them, 1,91,697 are male voters while the rest 1,89,415 are female voters.
Four-tire security measures have been taken for fair and peaceful polls.
Former Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif Dilu, from Pabna-4 constituency, died on April 2 and the Election Commission declared the seat vacant.
